The Cory’s shearwater (Calonectris diomedea diomedea) is the most abundant seabird in Azores. A bird of the open ocean the Cory’s shearwater is rarely seen near land, returning to the islands only to breed from March to November.

When returning to their nests late in the evening, shearwater calls are unique and unforgettable. Join a night walk along Faial’s South coast and visit a breeding colony of these amazing birds.
